Bikini-Bottom Barns, 2024

Following two days spent teaching at West Barns Primary with Primary 5 and 6 children for the PMC3 Course 'Making Art in Schools', we curated two exhibitions based on their creations. The children's artwork was displayed at Edinburgh College of Art on March 21st in an engaging, interactive exhibition, and at Above and Below, held at West Barns Studios on March 25th. 

Bikini Bottom Barns depicts a vibrant underwater world inspired by Bikini Bottom from SpongeBob SquarePants. Using the polymer and card characters crafted by Primary 5 and 6 pupils of West Barns Primary during Art workshops in November, the vase tells a playful, fun narrative that unravels as the children walk around it.
